Leigh Vaughan

Welcome to my website

Thank you to everyone for your good wishes to me as a now Former Councillor.

Now that the MidCoast Council has been announced, comprising the merger of Great Lakes, Greater Taree and Gloucester, these councils will cease to exist, and all current Councillors are now no longer in those positions.

I will of course continue to be committed to the interests of my communities and am happy to be contacted on any matter.

I have always worked for the good of our area and feel privileged to have served on Great Lakes Council for twelve years and the NSW Executive of Local Government for six years.

An active  contributor to the life of the region since 1975, I am  a hands-on person and always give of my best.

Being appointed to the Local Representative Committee (LRC) I am always available to discuss any council-related issues. We have already begun the challenging task of developing the new Mid Coast Council.

There will be no election until September 2017.

The new council of twelve will be committed to the whole region. Do seriously consider standing!

Forster Civic Precinct Development

Council has now lodged a planning proposal for a Gateway Determination with the NSW Department of Planning and Environment to amend the LEP.

It’s intended that once the gateway determination is issued, that the planning proposal and development application for the entire project will be exhibited for community feedback and input
